You may have heard of a book called The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein. A story about the relationship between a boy and a most generous tree that provides all it can to the boy until only a stump remains. Even though it’s just a stump, the boy (an old man now) finds a need for the tree as it lovingly provides the perfect resting place for the old man’s weary legs.

Our New Earth-Friendly Tables

In the spirit of giving and in honor of the cottonwood and olive tree, Pfeifer Studio will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of our two (2) new exclusive table designs to Tree New Mexico. A non-profit group in New Mexico dedicated to ensuring sustainable forests in urban and rural communities, it is one of the most successful urban and rural tree planting efforts in the nation.

Rio Grande Side Table - $449.00 + Free Delivery

Local, eco-friendly and full of personality, we are excited to debut our Rio Grande and Olive Stump Side Tables. Our Rio Grande Side Table comes from standing Cottonwood trees cleared from a burn area in the bosque (woodlands) along the Rio Grande River in New Mexico. Part of an effort to rehabilitate the area, we rescued the trees and turned them into ever-so-clever shaped side tables finished with a non-toxic topcoat finish.

Olivewood Stump Table - $329.00 + Free Delivery

Raw with burls and an eco-friendly non-toxic topcoat finish, each one of our Olivewood Stump Side Tables is completely unique from the other and full of character. Olive trees, non-native species introduced to New Mexico in the early 20th Century as an ornamental, are being removed in an effort to help restore the eco-system. The olive tree has been crowding out native trees along with other non-native species like Salt Cedars and Chinese Elms, so upon their removal we have been snatching them up to make really cool side tables.

In reference to The Giving Tree, we are ever so grateful for the versatility trees have to offer. An entire trunk creatively shaped or a tree stump full of whimsy, one should never assume that a stump is really ever just a stump.
