Creative entrepreneur, lover of great design, and longtime Pfeifer Studio fan, it’s an honor to be a part of the Pfeifer tribe. Involved in the creative arts my entire life, I have often been asked what I think makes a good design and where my creative inspiration comes from.
Whether referring to interiors, graphic arts, or fashion, I think a good design appears effortless, stands the test of time, and is a must-have or something you can’t live without.
Having left my oh-so-minimal city loft behind for my love affair with a vintage white brick north shore home, my latest design endeavor is inspired by antique flea market finds, children’s art, and my obsession with wanting a red Eames® molded plastic armchair for the corner of my built-in library nook.

Always looking for the right mix of modern and traditional, I don’t want to forget to mention how wonderful my Pfeifer Studio Brown Leather Waste Bin looks in my English cottage-inspired powder room!

As an artist, the inspiration for my very first line of children’s illustrations comes from my quirky sense of humor, city life, and cool vintage fabrics and antiques. Recently rediscovering a delightful collective of books from the late 1950’s to early 1960’s by Paul Rand and his wife Ann, I adore the not-so-perfect polka dots and slightly skewed stripes that complement his clean and simple drawings.

A passion for fashion, though I traded in my spunky heels for Converse® sneakers and skirts when my twin boys came along, my creativity would not be complete without the mention of my appreciation for the fine detailing of classic couture and unique hand-painted or silk-screened textiles. Though my approach to dress has changed only somewhat, I still pine for beautiful handbags and detailed clutches, like the Hand Painted Kalamkari Clutch in silk, available through Pfeifer Studio.

What sparks one’s creativity and design inspiration is everywhere. For some of us it’s the weathered look of an aged brick house, the color red, children’s art, a classic Eames® chair, not-so-perfect polka-dots, a slightly skewed stripe, a ruffle on the sleeve of a blouse from a fashion spread, or unique silk-screened textiles. For others it might be a certain texture, something round, or the colors in a leaf cluster high in a tree. Whatever it is, look if you dare, and the way you see the world will forever be changed.
