Tuareg Craftsmen selling their leather goods in West Africa
Now, more about the culture which creates these beautiful cushions. The Tuareg are a nomadic people who are the principal inhabitants of the Saharan interior of North Africa and are today mostly in West Africa. Our pillows are hand made by a group of sisters in Niger whose brother lives here in New Mexico and supplies them directly to us. He charges us a fair price, but also says that he wants his sisters to make as much as possible because they are their primary source of income.
