Lori asks: “I have a cathedral ceiling in my bedroom and really LARGE furniture pieces...I can’t think of the brand, but I will let you know if I do. Anyway, I like your linen wall hangings, and am interested to hear your thoughts on using one in this room.”

Pfeifer says: “Not having seen the space, we think that you should draw attention to the height of the room. This will not only make the space feel larger, but keep your LARGE furniture pieces in proportion with the room itself.

The easiest way to draw attention to the room’s height will be to create a detail that pulls the eye upward. Could you paint the ceiling a contrasting color or place a wall hanging quite high up?

A wall covered in many different pieces of art is an option as long as the spread continues to the top. If you decide to go this route we love our
linen wall hangings mixed in with framed prints and found objects.

Another option would be to find art/wall hangings which are long and narrow in scale. They will act almost like an arrow pointing upwards. Remember to tie the colors to the other elements in the room. Frame your selections in a beautiful wood that coordinates with your furniture or select colors that match the textiles in the room”
